I think my obsession with photos started after my uncle took a picture of me as a young child. It captured the perfect moment—the cool breeze, the fresh air, the carefree day. A single photo perfectly matched the emotion that I'd felt playing in my grandparents’ yard.
That captured emotion compelled me to search for emotion in my pictures. I don’t just want to record an event, but the feeling of that moment in time. We can’t actually relive a moment, but we can “feel” it again through memories. My husband got me a “fancy” camera for a birthday some time ago, and there’s been no looking back! Through photographing my four young children, I’ve been able to capture some amazing memories on film, well I guess I should say “file.” I strive to capture wonderful memories for other families, too—the chubby hands, the bursts of laughter, or emerging young adult. Precious moments fly by much too quickly, so freeze them while you can! |
